High Performance School «Valle del Ambroz» for young pianists

15 to 27 August 2025 in Baños de Montemayor and Hervás.

The High Performance School “Valle del Ambroz” is aimed at students of Conservatories and Music Universities.

During the afternoon, recitals by teachers and students will be held under the framework of the Festival.

The High Performance Piano School Valle del Ambroz was conceived with the idea of offering high quality teaching where piano masterclasses are combined with other lessons that complement the students’ training. Students who apply for Modality A will have priority in the selection process.

This modality includes:

6 piano masterclasses (with one or more professors).
4 four hands piano lessons.
4 ZeneZen lessons – Kodály/Kokas Methodology.
Pianos for practicing.
Tickets for the Festival.

Modality B
Masterclasses

Accommodation and full board guaranteed

600 €

Registration is available for either (or both) of the two weeks in which the course is divided: 16-20 and 22-26 August.

This modality includes:

4 piano masterclasses (with one or more professors).
Pianos for practicing.

Modality C
Auditors

Attendance as an auditor at all EAR Valle del Ambroz classes.
Tickets for the Festival.

*Accommodation and board for auditors will only be available for those over 18 years old and until all spots are filled. They will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Accommodation

“Joaquín Sama” Training Center

Accommodation will take place at the “Joaquín Sama” Training Center (Baños de Montemayor), in double rooms with full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Check-in will be in the afternoon the day before classes start and check-out will be in the morning after the last day of classes.

One monitor for every 10 underage students. These monitors are teachers with group management experience.

An authorized transport company will provide the necessary transportation to attend the classes and activities that take place in Hervás. Underage students will have classes preferably in the town of Baños de Montemayor.

The lessons, recitals and activities will be held in emblematic places of both towns: Hospedería Valle del Ambroz, Museo Pérez Comendador-Lerroux and Cine Teatro-Juventud of Hervás; Auditorio Santa Catalina, Centro de Formación “Joaquín Sama” and Centro de Interpretación del Termalismo of Baños de Montemayor.

Student selection

Candidates must submit a video including a minimum of two pieces or complete movements (one of which can be a study) of contrasting styles with duration between 15 and 20 minutes (modalities A and B).

The video will be sent via a YouTube link or any other similar platform by entering the URL in the form.

The results of this selection will be communicated on May 30 by email.

Notes:

1.Deposit. A deposit of 100€ must be paid and will be deducted from the tuition fee. In case the student is not selected, the deposit will be returned in full. The deposit can be paid at the moment of sending the form or by bank transfer. Upon completion of the form you will receive an email with the details.

2.Professor preference. During registration, you will be able to choose your preferred professors for the masterclasses. This preference will be considered as far as possible according to the order of registration and the selected students’ level.

3.Registration and video. Deadline to send video recording is May 15th, although we recommend registering in advance.

4.Competition. Please consult the competition conditions if you are interested and indicate this in the form.
