Lectures
Tendencies in Contemporary Piano Music.
Extended Techniques.
Individual coaching
This workshop is designed for pianists interested in exploring key aspects of contemporary piano performance. The course combines lectures, score study, and individual coaching, focusing on both aesthetic and technical challenges of modern repertoire.
The program includes two lectures, each lasting two hours:
Tendencies in Contemporary Piano Music, offering an overview of major stylistic directions, compositional ideas, and notational practices from the late 20th century to today.
Extended Techniques, introducing unconventional sound production methods, preparation, and the expanded sonic possibilities of the piano.
Participants will receive in advance a selection of short contemporary works for piano (approximately 10 to 15 pieces), which will be distributed according to each student’s level. In addition, participants are welcome to choose their own contemporary pieces—works they are particularly interested in—and work on them individually during the workshop. Each pianist will receive individual coaching sessions of approximately 40 minutes, focusing on interpretation, technique, notation, and performance strategies.
The workshop aims to develop practical skills, broaden stylistic awareness, and encourage confident, creative engagement with contemporary piano music.
